Success Story of Mrs. Leela And Dhanraj

Mrs.Leela Dhanraj, lives in village Babadiyachor,with her husband and two children in one of the project villages in panchayat Bawadiyachor, Block Ichhawer, district Sehore. She is a landless daily labourer

They have a thatched house to live in. The main source of their income was daily labor. They were walking for 10-25 kilometer for labor to the construction site or for any agriculture work and hardly were getting only 20 days’ work. The wage was Rs.150-200 per day. The family was struggling for 2 times meal and other necessary things like clothe and food item. Both children were studying in government school.

 In the year 2020, CEROWC reached the village with a KKS/ BMZ funded project namely “Improving food security and financial situation of the household of 15 village of Sehore districts”. Mrs Leela Dhanraj heard about CEROWC NGO and project activities and met the entertainer of NGO. The Entertainer gave all information about the NGO and the KKS/BMZ project and its activities. Then she joined the SHG that was formed few days before in the village and started to deposit Rs. 50 per month as saving. After 6 month she applied for a grocery shop in the SHG. Mr. Leelakishan the Entertainer of the village met her and gave all IGA related information to her husband and said her to arrange the local contribution and told him to arrange the local contribution if they are interested . For local contribution she took loan from SHG and with the support of the project she started a small grocery shop in her small house.

Mr. Dhanraj had little knowledge of masonry and he joined with other trained masons and learned it. Now he takes masonry work and complete it well. Hence with the other masons he too goes for work. He gets a payment of 500 to 600

The family got a house from the housing scheme of the Government. She made two rooms one she converted into a shop and kept more things. Now the selling has increased and she is getting an earning Rs. 300-400 per day. She returned the loan that was taken from the SHG. She does not go for daily labor but she manages the shop. The income of the family from every source is calculated as Rs. 18000 per month.

Now Leela is elected as the leader of the VLF in the village since she has a very good administrative capacity. She manages the SHG and VLF properly.

Mrs. Leela and her family member said that we have a happy and joy life she is planning to increase more items in the shop. Now we have enough food and clothes and other necessary things and savings. Now both children are getting good education in a private school. Now both Leela and her husband work hard to bring up their family.
