Kissan a physically handicapped man of village Khamkheda married Miss Luli/Dhan Singh of village Chikalpani who is also physically handicapped as they could not get any other life partner. They have 2 children, a boy aged –years and a girl aged ---years. He owns 1.5 acre of land that is given in lease to his brother since he cannot work in the field. In return his brother gives him Rs. 12000/ year and they were living with it.

As the entertainer introduced KKS project and its activities and the aim of it to the people, the family came to know of the project intervention in the village. Mrs. Luli knew CEROWC and its activities as we worked 5 years in a previous project at village Chikalpani when Luli was a young girl. As project kick started at village Khamkheda Mrs. Luli got interested and with the support of her husband joined the SHG and applied for a grocery shop. Being poor she had no money to raise local contribution even. They requested their father for some money as they did not get a share from the father’s property. So instead of loan the father gave him one and a half acres of dry land for them. Since they both are physically handicapped and could not work in the field, they gave the land to their brother in lease i on Rs. 12000 per year.

With the help of some well-wishers, she purchased some hen & cock and started a small poultry farm of 10 birds. Slowly it increased and they began to earn more income. From that Mrs. Luli submitted the local contribution for the grocery shop. CEROWC’s entertainer helped them to purchase the grocery items with the purchasing committee and reached it to their home. Mrs. Luli an active woman though handicapped (physically handicapped) did as much as she could; managing the poultry and the grocery shop very well and earn Rs. 6000 per month from the grocery shop and Rs. 4000 from the poultry farming as it is the only shop.

Since they had no house of their own, they applied for a house to government from the (PMAY) Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna. They got assistance from the government, made a small house to live in. His family did not accept them and they had no dignity in the village at all. As a result, they were depressed.

Since they joined in all the activities of CEROWC and grew economically everybody in the village began to come to their house and they are well accepted in the family & village too. Their annual income has increased from land Rs. 20000, poultry Rs. 38000 and from grocery Rs. 60000, total Rs. 1,18,000 per year.

They are grateful to KKS /BMZ & CEROWC and always welcome us to their small house. The children are studying in the government school. He purchased a motor bike and visit their friends and well-wishers & families.

We could notice the peace they enjoy and happiness in their face itself.
